SP Umbra
- Tienes tres grupos: Profesional/Trabajo, Personal y Apps sensibles.
Contacto
SP Umbra
Put your apps in groups and pause them when you don't want them within reach: at home, work; at work, the personal stuff.
Getting started
- Open SP Umbra and tap "Continue". iOS will ask for permission so SP Umbra can pause and disconnect the apps you choose. You can revoke it in iOS Settings.
- You have three groups: Professional/Work, Personal and Sensitive Apps. They're always on the screen: emptying one clears it, but it never goes away. Using Sensitive Apps needs Premium.
- Tap a group and use "+" to add what belongs in it: apps, websites or categories, each type on its own, in Apple's picker. If you tick a category while adding apps, its current apps go in one by one.
Pause and disconnect
- Pause: iOS shows a blocking screen when you try to use paused apps or websites. Apps stay visible.
- Disconnect: they disappear from the Home Screen, the App Library and Settings, along with their widgets, until you resume the group. Press and hold the button for one second, watch the optional ad, then tap "Disconnect for 1 Hour" once you receive the reward. With Premium there's no ad and you choose how long.
- Resume: removes the pause or disconnection from this group. Inside the group, drag "Slide to resume" all the way across; on the main screen, press and hold the group's bubble for a second.
A group with categories or websites can only be paused: iOS only lets you disconnect apps picked one by one. If you want to be able to disconnect it, add apps.
Pause and Disconnect control access to apps; they aren't an internet connection switch.
Duration
When pausing, choose 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 6 h or "Until I Resume". "Set Custom Duration…" opens the group setting: turn on "Custom Duration" and choose from 15 min to 23 h 45 min. Setting it doesn't start a pause. It will then appear as "Custom: …" among the options.
Ads and privacy
A completed ad gives you one hour to disconnect a group. You have two ads across the app, not per group: each one comes back 12 hours after you use it, one at a time, and the second starts counting when the first comes back. If the ad fails or ends without a reward, you can try again. The hour starts when you tap "Disconnect for 1 Hour"; if you cannot use it then, it stays available. Hours do not accumulate. You can resume early, but that does not bring the ad back.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Allowing tracking is not required to receive the reward. In Information and on the ad sheet you can read the privacy notice, change ad privacy choices when applicable in your region, and report an ad. Restricted treatment applies to minors and when adulthood is not confirmed; if Apple requires parental permission, ads wait for approval.
Premium
Premium is a 3-month or 1-year subscription, with the same features on both plans. Prices come from the App Store.
- With Premium: disconnect without an ad, with no limit and for as long as you choose; the Sensitive Apps group; creating or changing PINs and setting up Face ID, for the app and for your notes; charts of your pauses; and choosing the app icon.
- Free: pausing Professional/Work and Personal for any of their durations, resuming, disconnecting for one hour with each of the two ads, which come back every 12 hours, your notes, and the Screen Time report.
- 3-day trial: both plans start with 3 free days, once per Apple Account, with all of Premium included. When the trial ends, Apple charges for the plan you chose unless you cancel beforehand in Settings > Umbra Premium > Manage Subscription.
- When the trial or Premium ends: your notes lose their PIN and Face ID, but they aren't deleted: you can keep writing, editing and deleting them. Subscribing again doesn't bring back the Notes PIN; you set it up again. The App PIN and Face ID for opening the app stay.
- Restore: if you change iPhones or reinstall the app, restore Premium in Settings > Umbra Premium > Restore Purchases.
The bubbles
- The border shows the state: green for active, orange for paused and red for disconnected.
- Swipe a bubble one way to show Add and Empty group; swipe it the other way for Pause and Disconnect.
- If the group is active, press and hold its bubble to remove apps one at a time using the cross on each icon. If it is paused or disconnected, holding it for one second resumes it.
- While a group is paused or disconnected its apps can't be changed, so a pause is never left half done: resume it, change it and pause it again.
Inside a group
- At the top you pick Apps, Websites or Categories, or swipe from one to the next.
- Swipe a row to remove it from the group; "Undo" appears at the bottom for a few seconds, and shaking your iPhone undoes it too. Use "Edit" and "Remove" to remove several at once. The apps aren't uninstalled.
- At the bottom, the Screen Time bar opens that group's usage today and over the last 7 days, counting only its own apps and websites.
Usage
With Premium, the Usage tab shows charts of your pauses over the last 7 days: "Time paused", by day and by group, and "Times you paused", by group. Pausing and disconnecting both count. At the bottom, the Screen Time bar opens the whole phone's screen time over the last 7 days. iOS draws that one inside the app: SP Umbra never sees that data.
PIN & Face ID
In Settings, "PIN & Face ID" shows whether a PIN is set. Creating or changing PINs and setting up Face ID needs Premium or the trial. Turn on "App PIN" to also set up a Notes PIN and Face ID:
- App PIN: 4 to 6 digits. It's requested when you open the app and whenever you return; if Face ID is set up to open SP Umbra, you can use that too.
- Notes PIN: on the PIN screen it opens only your notes, without showing the app.
- Face ID: for the app or for your notes. It never starts on its own: on the PIN screen, tap its button.
- After creating a PIN, "Share PIN…" opens the share sheet so you can save it in a safe place. You can't look up the PIN later.
- From the fifth wrong try in a row you have to wait: 30 seconds, doubling each time, up to a quarter of an hour.
Removing the App PIN also removes the Notes PIN and the use of Face ID in SP Umbra.
On the same screen, a free switch decides whether Sensitive Apps shows up in Groups and in the Usage charts.
I Forgot My App PIN
You can't look up your PIN. If you set up Face ID to open SP Umbra, tap its button to sign in and change your PIN in Settings > PIN & Face ID (with Premium or the trial). If you can't sign in, reinstalling is the last resort: you'll lose the groups, settings and notes saved in the app. If you turned on “Prevent App Deletion”, first revoke SP Umbra's permission in iOS Settings > Screen Time.
I Forgot My Notes PIN
If you can enter SP Umbra with your App PIN or Face ID set up to open it, your notes are still available in Sensitive Apps. With Premium or the trial, you can change your Notes PIN in Settings > PIN & Face ID. You don't need to reinstall the app.
Private notes
A text-only notebook inside "Sensitive Apps": anyone who gets into the app can read them. With their own PIN or with Face ID, they open from the PIN screen without showing the app. They stay on this iPhone: they're left out of your backup and don't move to another phone. Creating and editing notes is free; adding a PIN or Face ID to them needs Premium.
Phone Restrictions
In Settings: Prevent App Installation removes the App Store; Prevent App Deletion stops apps from being deleted; Block In-App Purchases blocks purchases handled by the App Store. They apply to your whole iPhone and stay on even after you resume all your groups. Turn them off here to allow those actions again. iOS lets you revoke Screen Time permission.
App Icon
With Premium, you choose the icon in Settings: SP Umbra, Frame, Lines or Ring.
Good to know
- If an app doesn't pause, check that SP Umbra has the Screen Time permission and that the group says "Paused". If the bubble says "No Permission", the permission was turned off in iOS Settings.
- An app in two groups stays paused while either of them is.
- Pausing one app can pause others from the same company, such as Amazon and Alexa. iOS does this and there's no way around it.
- When you resume, apps come back outside their folders. That's how iOS returns them, and an app has no way of knowing where they were.
- The app never sees the names of your apps: iOS hands them over as tokens only iOS can read.
- All of this is inside the app too, in the Info tab.
Groups, notes and backups
SP Umbra doesn't send your groups or notes to SuperPartner. Groups and settings may be included in your iPhone backup; notes are excluded. If you delete SP Umbra or change iPhones, you can't recover your notes from that backup. iOS provides your app selection as tokens without revealing app names to SP Umbra.
Uninstalling
Before deleting the app, resume any groups you have paused or disconnected and turn off any phone restrictions you switched on. Deleting the app doesn't cancel Premium: cancel it in your Apple Account, under Subscriptions.
